Wishlists, ASOS and Snowflakes

So Christmas is actually next week! Which is crazy, how did it get here so fast? However, with decorating the tree, the copious amounts of snow dusted, I mean, caked on every surface outside of my house. The thing is, unlike other years I dont actually know what I want... I may be lusting over every item stored in Urban Outfitters and pining over the most perfect leather journal but forming a realistic list of what I'd like to see all wrapped up under the tree is proving difficult. However, after I received a lovely email from Daisy and Pauline from Discountcoder, asking me what I'd buy with £100 at Asos, my wishlist just grew substantially. I love working with a budget, so I rose to the challenge!

I love All Saints, and the simple cut paired with the rich, aubergine colouring was so perfect! I thought to offset the simplicity, the tights with roses going up the bag would be perfect, and would work especially well with the lace-up boots! I'm so into fluffy cardigans at the moment, with a ridiculous amount of mohair knits taking space in my wardrobe! But the silky, luxurious look of the one below is so perfect, and would go perfectly with the dress, as well as contributing to the muted colour palette. And to punctuate the outfit? Some well selected accessories! A simple chain headband gives a distinctive Bohemian feel which is offset by the grungy skull bracelet. I'm in love with canvas bags, cherishing my Rough Trade and Beyond Retro ones the most, and thing the bag I chose would go perfectly and give the outfit a more effortless feel. And the finishing touch? A lick of paint for my nails, in either dove grey or a taupe colour.

I think I managed to select quite a lot of items in a small budget, creating an entire outfit filled with accessories and even cosmetics, and it totalled to £100 exactly, result! ASOS are doing so many deals right now, so be sure to check to see if you can score any more deals with some discount codes!

london fashion week, new schools, and an internship

 HELLO?!

So... Where have I been all summer? It's been a whirlwind to say the least. Not only did I manage to score an 6 week internship (which deserves its own post really) but I also have a couple of projects up my sleeve as well as prepping for LFW.

On another note, I'd like to introduce you to my second blog: RAGS.

It will be more about my inspirations, more outfits, more opinions on whats going on in fashion really. This blog is for everything else inbetween! Eventually, I think, I'll move over there properly but for now I'm having a little case of withdrawal symptoms! Boo! So scurry on there and subscribe or you'll miss out ;)

I'll be starting a new school later this week which is both exciting and nerve wracking! I'm super excited about starting A Levels though.

It's kind of crazy how much someone's style can change.Forgotten are the outfits of pastel shades aplenty, introducing a more muted palette of navy blue, wine red and greys and black. FashionistaDuJour's growing up! :') But I have to say, I'm so excited for Autumn/Winter! It's my favourite fashion season. Summer dressing has never really been my 'thing'

London Fashion Week is approaching... and I've been working on my schedule. Hopefully I'll have lots of lovely shows to report back to you about! LFW keeps getting better and better. Maybe to get everyone excited I'll do a little post about last FW/forecast of this seasons current trends?

london fashion week excitement!

Ok, so this is just a quickie as I'm currently obsessing over what to wear to London Fashion Week! Yes, it's that time again and expect lots of footage and pictures and reports from the shows! I'm real excited and hope you enjoy reading about my experience! The blog is going to have some MAJOR changes soon btw. New name, new domain perhaps, new layout, and I'll be branching out too! So watch this space!

ALSO. I finally got round to getting a winner for my competitionto win a £25 Topshop voucher... I was very fair and used random.org to generate a number and landed on... *drum roll*

What's with all the blog titles being named after colours, yo?

Is it geeky that I formulate my own personal colour palette? Dove grey and jade green both make the cut... dusty pink, cream and a number of different pastel sweet as candy colours will be worn by me over the next year. To start off? This lurvelllly jade green nail polish. I've been inspired by THE Chanel one for ages, but I'd love to experiment without forking over the dosh! I love it! It's by Eyeko and is on sale @ ASOS, even cheaper than I originally bought it! I'm thinking of getting lilac next... My next nail polish craving? This...

Isn't it a beaut? Tipped to be the new "It polish" by dani, I can't wait till it hits stores in April! I love nail polishes recently. You know when you want to buy something but don't want to spend too much money? Nail polishes are the answer!

Currently listening to: The Drowned & The Saved by Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man. Gosh, I love this band oodles. I think I've become obsessed with "The Drowned and The Saved" *hence the lyric plastered over image 1*

dove grey

welcome to 2010.

i'm actually pretty excited for this year. it marks a lot of things.the start of a new school, more projects and advances in my career and a hopefully more dedicated approach towards blogging.

i think i can safely say i cannot wait to see what happens, and this little gem will be with me all the way.

so, a couple of days ago i braved the cruel temptress that is the boxing day sales and picked up something i've had my eyes on for ages. this perfect dove grey jacket. i mean, black leather jackets, navy leather jackets, dark grey (even) leather jackets have become a bit blah in my opinion. so when i laid my eyes on this milky, dove-like shade of grey i swiped it off the rack and hurried to the till.

what do you think of it? i cant wait to give my sickly sweet outfits a feminine - yet edgy - kick! my wardrobe colour palette is being dominated by coral, nude, dusty pinks and pastel colours, and i have so many ideas of how to wear this jacket! i hope my lacey, pearly, frilly filled clothes can cope when this bad boy moves into The Wardrobe.

i'm clearly way too excited. expect a post coming up soon about nail colours (hint - you may be able to spot which colour i'm head over heels for at the moment) and other purchases i've indulged in so far.

i have mock examinations for the next two weeks and i'm surrounded by notes, revision guides... all that stuff. wish me luck!

Fashionista Du Jour 2.0?

Pardon the dust! I've been cleaning up the layout a bit recently. The old layout was far too squished so I opened it up so I now have space for nice, big, pictures and everything just looks a lot prettier. Do you agree?

It's not THAT much of a change, don't worry gang. More like a spring clean... in winter.

But with a new layout and a new year approaching I feel a lot more inspired to post! Happy days :) 

I'm also getting really bored of my current header, so if any graphically-skilled people want to have a go at recreating the header be my guest! Bare in mind I do like the blog title font, but apart from that go crazy! Like edgy, pretty, lacey, punky style, I suppose. My email is in the sidebar so you can sendme them there. Oh, and I'd like it to be the same size as it is now. I dont mind if its a bit taller than it is, but same length.

Also, what would you guys think if I changed the blog name? I don'tknow. Hmm....

Anyway, expect a blog post later about a new purchas I'm really excited about! It's a wardrobe staple, and so so perfect. Can you guess? You won't have to wait long!

vintage lace, cosy cardigans and winter fun

HIIII. So the winter holidays are in full swing, London actually had some snow (I know, right?!?!) and I'm finally getting into the christmas spirit! Although, I'm going to have my head in the books a lot this holiday, I got pretty stoked when I woke up to a thick (well, thick in london standards) blanket of snow covering everything in sight. so pretty :)

I broke up from school this tuesday! End of term = mufti days. Lovelovelove 'em. So here's what I wore:

In between revision and gazing at the snow I've been happyhappyhappy about the return of one of my favourite shows, The Beautiful Life! It showed on the CW for two episodes but because no-one knew about it (everyone was obsessing over something called Vampire Diaries?) it got cancelled. Boo. But now we can alll watch it worldwide as they'll be posting an episode on Youtube every week. The first 3 are already up so go watch!

Come on, Elle Macpherson, Mischa Barton and cameo appearances from the likes of Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Richie Rich? What more could you want?!

FUNNY AINDREA MOMENT OF THE DAY: Went out for milk and bread. Came back with new cardigan, shoes on order, Mary Kate and Ashley's Influence (how late am i?!?) and 4 magazines. Oh Aindrea, you do make me chuckle.

one woman, one man, one show!

YEP. I know what you're thinking - "OH. SO AINDREA FINALLY DECIDED TO POST ABOUT THE SHOW. ABOUT TIME TOO!" After like what, a month?! I'm a bad bad blogger. But I've got a video for you to watch so you can forgive me! :D This is going to be a long post. But trust me, it's a good 'un and well worth reading!

So i've finally decided to write about the 1.WO/MAN show I did with the BBC during London Fashion Week. It was SUCH a hectic day. Waiting for Vitaminwater deliveries, Fashion.Music.Style deliveries, sorting out models, mishaps with collection fits, co-ordinating the Dolly Rockers who were set to perform (<3) and alll whist being filmed for the BBC film which'll be on BBC2 pretty soon ;) Here's some behind the scene photographic evidence to give you a glimpse into the hours of preparation we had before the show ;)

So after allll the stress had passed, runway rehearsals had took place and seat goodies had been sorted we all sighed in relief. Soon after, London College of Fashion official came in. Then the panic started as the queue built up in the hundreds! We let everyone in - bloggers, fashion press, buyers & a coupla slebs - and the looming securityman muttered something like "OI. SORRY LOVE, WE'RE AT FULL CAPACITY. NO-ONE ELSE CAN COME IN" 

UH-OH. SPAGHETTIOS. Thankfully, more people could be let in as Frances of Happy Because, Shini from Park and Cube et al managed to come in (love you guys <3)

The Dolly Rockers sang "Boys will the Boys" - which, i admit, is still stuck in my head - clad in Dr Martens, ripped tights, cute tutu skirts and bundles of attitudes before strutting down the catwalk followed by our delicious models.

Anyone want to engage in a bit of "Spot the Blogger?" I invited a bunch of fashion bloggers to the event. If any of you are reading, THANKS FOR COMING! Was lovely meeting you all! <3 <3 <3

The soundtrack I here you ask? Its all about the chooooons. It was a mix of Tiga - Shoes (seriously. I could not stop saying "Whats that sound? Its the sound of my shoes" afterwards. Check it out"), Poppy and the Jezebels - UFO, Simultaneously by ??? and sounbites from Tristan by Patrick Wolf. The latter song was somewhat of the entire teams favourite song. Partly because we met him, partly because he rocks!

The shoes are by Irregular Choice! Aren't they darling? Thank you Danny Sullivan <3<3 You know, he stopped me before the show and was like "Hi Aindrea! ... I saw your blog!" Inside I was like *DIE.OMG.SAIDGSFIUGSDFSDGFS* But don't worry kiddos. I was soooo professional and although I can't remember what I said, it was probably along the lines of "Oh wow! That's so cool" Haha. Socially inept...

& Check out the footage from the night in the form of the last snazzy BBC webisode. The hour long film will be on BBC2 probably by the end of the year, but I'll keep you posted! The video is just the runway performance, but for all the manic plus extra footage that wasn't in the webisodes, you should deffo watch the show when it's shown ;)
